Official: Pocophone F1 supports Quick Charge 4.0 and is splash resistant

Pocophone F1 The Poco India Twitter account has confirmed the Pocophone F1 is splash resistant and supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.0. The timing of the announcements is a bit strange given Xiaomi revealed the phone three weeks ago. Poco Global’s head of product has also confirmed that Face Unlock will be rolled out in all regions in the near future. In a series of tweets, Poco India has revealed that the Pocophone F1 is certified splash resistant and supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.0. While great news, it seems a bit strange that Xiaomi is only letting us know about the features over three weeks after it announced the phone. The news that the phone supports Quick Charge 4.0 is perhaps the most surprising. After all, the phone’s official listing on the Xiaomi website only mentions support for Quick Charge 3.0 and the charger that comes packaged with the phone supports the older standard. Be up to speed with the #MasterOfSpeed! Comes inbuilt with @Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.0 support. Goes on sale tomorrow, 12 noon on https://t.co/DREiXV90LG and @Flipkart. Qualcomm says it’s latest tech is up to 15% faster than previous versions. If you manage to upgrade your charger to one that supports the newer tech, it could make quite a difference to your charging speeds. Samsung is tied with Xiaomi for first … The news that the device is splash resistant is also good news. The certification comes from P2i, a company that uses a nano-coating process to provide water resistance. While the phone might not survive a long drop in water, the certification means it should be able to handle every-day spills. These two features aren’t going to take the spotlight away from the highlight of the Pocophone F1: it’s Snapdragon 845 chipset and 6GB or 8GB of RAM. However, they are both nice extras — especially for those worried that the device does not offer much beyond its speed and power. In related news, head of product at Poco Global, Jai Mani, has confirmed that Face Unlock functionality will make its way outside of India in the near future. Mani noted in a tweet (via Fone Arena) that users who set their Pocophone F1 to India will already be able to use the feature, however the plan is to enable it for all users eventually.
