Here’s your first look at what is likely the Fitbit Charge 3 fitness tracker

Leaked images hit the internet today that appear to be of the Fitbit Charge 3. The most notable change to the Charge 3 is that there is no longer a physical button on the side of the screen. Specs, pricing, and release date aren’t yet known, but the images make the device look pretty cool. Dutch site Nieuwe Mobiel got its hands on some leaked images of what appears to be the upcoming Fitbit Charge 3. While we don’t yet know any specs, pricing, or a release date, the images can give us some hints on what to expect from Fitbit’s next fitness tracker. Fitbit has been focused on the smartwatch market for a while now, with the Fitbit Ionic, Fitbit Blaze, and most recently the Fitbit Versa. But fitness trackers are what the company is likely most known for and it seems like the Charge 3 will bolster that reputation. The first thing you’ll notice from the leaked images is that – unlike the Fitbit Charge 2 – there is no physical button on the side of the Fitbit Charge 3. Instead, there appears to be a groove or notch area that could possibly be a touch button: Leaked images reportedly of the Fitbit Charge 3. Nieuwe Mobiel It’s not unheard of for a Fitbit fitness tracker to not have a physical button: the Fitbit Alta and Alta HR don’t have any physical buttons, instead using taps on the screen to navigate through features. Probably, but it’s not as simple as you think! As some of you may know, I’m not only a tech lover — I’m also a big fitness enthusiast. Therefore, the idea of a fitness tracker — which combines tech and fitness into a single product … But the question is whether or not the Fitbit Charge 3 will have a full-on touchscreen now that it doesn’t have any physical buttons. It is possible, but it’s also possible that the “tap” actions from the Alta and Alta HR are making their way to the Charge 3. Nieuwe Mobiel Along with the traditional sports band that most trackers come with as a default, there’s a fabric band as well as a “sportier” band with lots of holes to allow for better comfort during workouts. There are also lots of different color choices here, which is always welcome. Fitbit launched the Charge 2 at IFA in 2016. The 2018 edition of IFA is happening this month, so it’s possible that we’ll see the launch of the Charge 3 at that event.
