Deal: Get the Sony Xperia XZ1 for $535 ($165 off)

Sony’s Xperia XZ1 has been discounted to around $535 on Amazon, so long as you like the phone in silver. The Xperia XZ1 is still a capable smartphone that features the Snapdragon 835 and 4 GB of RAM. We are not sure how long the discount will last until. At this point, we should just assume that it will not take very long for Sony smartphones to go down in price shortly after launch. Case in point: after already receiving a $100 price drop to $600, the Xperia XZ1 sees a further price drop to around $535. As a recap, the Xperia XZ1 sports a 5.2-inch display with Full HD resolution, a 19 MP rear camera capable of 4K video recording and slow-motion video at 960 frames per second, and a 3D Creator app that lets you create 3D scans of faces, food, and other objects. The Xperia XZ1 also features Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 chipset, 4 GB of RAM, and a 2,700 mAh battery that holds up well for regular usage. The 64 GB of internal storage is a decent amount, though the microSD card slot lets you add up to an additional 256 GB. Finally, the Xperia XZ1 was the first phone to run Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box, something that phones like the OnePlus 5T and even Sony’s own Xperia L2 still cannot say. Editor's PickSony Xperia XA2, Xperia XA2 Ultra, and Xperia L2 are now up for pre-order Just a few days ago Sony officially unveiled its latest trio of smartphones: the Xperia XA2, Xperia XA2 Ultra, and the Xperia L2. We only just finished discussing them and already they're available for pre-order in … The Xperia XZ1 does not feature the near bezel-less design that has gained traction in the smartphone space, though some do not view that as a negative. Also, the US version does not feature a working fingerprint sensor. You can flash different firmware to enable it, though we understand if you do not want to mess with that. Finally, Sony is expected to unveil the phone’s successor, the Xperia XZ2, in February during Mobile World Congress, though the successor is expected to be more expensive in the US. That being said, if you are looking for a flagship-level smartphone right now, and do not mind Sony’s design language, the Xperia XZ1 is a solid choice. Keep in mind that its current $535.46 price tag only applies to the silver color. If you want the phone in black, blue, or pink, you will have to cough up $600. Get the phone
