YouTube dark theme is rolling out (we’ve already got it)

The long-awaited YouTube dark theme is finally here for Android smartphones. YouTube dark theme was made available to iPhone users in March of this year but is just coming to Android now. Our Google Pixel 2 XL running Android 9 Pie already has the update, so the rollout is happening fast. Even though Google continuously ignores Android fans’ pleas for a universal dark theme systemwide across the operating system, at least it is finally offering users the next-best-thing: dark themes for individual apps. Once we did that, the dark theme option appeared and we snapped the screenshots above.
