New Star Soccer Manager out now on Android (Updated)

Update, September 3, 2018 (10:27 a.m. Pacific): New Star Soccer Manager is out now on Android via the Google Play Store. The mobile soccer management sim has been available on iOS devices for a few months, but now Android users can step out onto the touchline and start their soccer (European football) management careers too. The game is free-to-play so you won’t have to spend anything to get into the action. Instead, the game is supported by in-app purchases and adverts which play at semi-regular intervals. You can turn the latter off with a small one-off payment, but you can still watch ads to get extra tries during each match. Editor's Pick10 best European football apps and soccer apps for Android! European football (soccer) is a massive sport. It's arguably the most popular sport in the world. There are a bunch of leagues, tons of teams, and thousands upon thousands of players. It's almost an act … I’ve been playing NSSM for the past couple of days and can safely report that it’s as addictive as the original New Star Soccer. The ‘one more match’ appeal is definitely kept in tact despite the perspective shift from player to manager and if you’re not careful you’ll spend hours playing without even noticing. It’s also far more in-depth as your remit goes from the boardroom to training ground to the dugout. You’ll be balancing your finances, player fitness, coaching abilities, relationship with the press and fans, development of your club’s facilities and much more before you even step out onto the pitch. New Star Soccer Manager gameplay Five Aces Once you’re on the pitch the action really kicks in though. Here you take control during short bursts of action as you direct your diminutive players to pass and score your way to victory. At the start, you’ll be playing in the lower leagues of English football, but after training and recruiting players you’ll eventually be able to earn promotion up the leagues all the way to the Premier League. If you can’t wait, you have the option to buy new players using real world cash too. While the game could do with a bit more customization options for your club (which are on the way in a future update), NSSM is great fun and definitely worth a look for anyone looking for a more action-focused alternative to the popular Football Manager series. Get New Star Soccer Manager Original article, July 5, 2018 (11:28AM PT): The team behind the award-winning and ridiculously addictive New Star Soccer has announced a new game in the popular soccer (European football) series called New Star Soccer Manager. The management sim, revealed in the first-look gameplay trailer above, is set to launch on Android (and iOS) devices later this summer. Unlike many of the soccer management sims on mobile, New Star Soccer Manager is being pitched as a cross between a simulation and an arcade title, with gameplay features both on and off the field. As well as devising tactics, buying and selling players, holding team talks, meeting with the board, and even dealing with social media and overall squad chemistry, you’ll also be shooting, passing, and making runs during matches with familiar New Star Soccer arcade controls. With modern soccer management games so often devolving into a menu-fest with endless amounts of micromanagement, here’s hoping that New Star Soccer Manager’s mix of gameplay styles has enough variety and flair to satisfy footie fans once the current 2018 World Cup fever dies down. There’s no word on pricing just yet, but there’s a good chance it’ll follow New Star Soccer’s free-to-play model with in-app purchases. The folks over at Pocket Gamer previewed the game earlier this year and seem to think the final release will include collectible card elements, so we could be seeing a FIFA Ultimate Team-like system to support the game long term. What do you make of the trailer? Will you be losing more of your life to New Star Soccer Manager when it launches later this summer? Let us know in the comments.
