Update (04/04/18): Users in the US with unlocked Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus devices are finally able to enjoy the benefits of Android 8.0 Oreo. Reports of the rollout began spreading earlier today on Reddit with screenshots showing build CRB9 hitting both SM-G950U1 (S8) and SM-G955U1 (S8 Plus) models.
The OTA weighs in at just under 250MB and includes all of the usual Oreo goodies like Picture-in-Picture mode, notification dots, and much more, as well as the Android security patches for March.
With the unlocked version and all Galaxy S8 carrier models now receiving the vanilla Oreo update, the wait now begins for Android 8.1!

Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus Android Oreo update
The Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus arrived in April 2017 running Android 7.0 Nougat with Samsung’s Grace UX skin. Since release, the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus have received a few updates in the US, mainly to address bugs and other issues (such as the red screen problem) and to improve its Bixby functionality.
On February 8, 2018, after an extensive beta period, Android Oreo was reported to be rolling out to the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus in Germany. Samsung hit the brakes on the rollout on February 14 due to unexpected reboots. Samsung resumed the update on February 22, before it started showing up on carrier-branded devices in the U.S. in March.
