Google Lens is headed to all Android devices thanks to Google Photos

Google Lens was announced back during Google I/O 2017 but the feature was initially exclusive to Google’s line of Pixel smartphones during an early “preview” phase. Originally the feature was found only inside of Google Photos but later made its way into Google Assistant. It’s been a long time coming, but Google Lens is now finally available to just about every Android (and iOS) device with the latest Google Photos app installed. Although you wont see cool augmented reality features, you’ll still be able to take advantage of Lens’ other smarts, like being able to read phone numbers inside of fliers, search for more information on important monuments, animals, or other things like that. Simply open a photo you’ve taken on your device inside of Google Photos, tap the Lens button, then wait for Google to perform its magic. Soon, Lens will be available in Google Assistant, but only flagship devices from manufacturers like Samsung, LG, Motorola, Huawei, Sony, and the like. To give Google Lens a spin for yourself, simply make sure you have the latest Google Photos app installed on your device. You can find it by clicking the button down below.
